Comment: Multi-talented MC Mong is a hip-hop artist and also an actor debuting in 2004 with his first album 180 Degrees. Back then hip-hop genre in Korea is still mostly underground. MC Mong is largely responsible to bring hip-hop music to mainstream fans, especially hip-hop styles ballads in which he has collaborated with many different artists and produced many chart topping hits. After his success, there are many rappers debuting and specialized in ballad style hip-hop sound. Each MC Mong album have followed this formula: the title song is an upbeat track with a unique concept, and the follow up song is a listener friendly rap ballads. He has had success in both. "A Letter Written To You" (feat. Lyn) is the first of such songs from MC Mong. This is also his theme song on the MBC sitcom "Nonstop 4" in which he made his acting debut. Despite not being the album title song and no official promotion is made, this song is very popular among fans and has also been covered by many singers on variety shows and concerts. Today, MC Mong is producing hits after hits and is considered the king of mainstream hip-hop.
