Comment: CNBlue's "Love" joins an elite company for being No. 1 the sixth consecutive week, an accomplishment only achieved by a few other songs since this chart started in 2005. Being the top rookie group in 2010, CNBlue had hyped up the music scene with their single, "Loner" (ranked No. 2 on our half year top 10) earlier this year has returned with their second mini album. Their songs are upgraded alternative rock based ballads with a hint of rap, showcasing their full potential as a band.

Comment: Moving up fast just in its second week on the chart is MC Mong’s “Hurt To The Extent Of Death”, the title song from the 2nd project album of the Blue Brand series "Trauma Part 2". Last year, the first album "Blue Brand 12 Doors" had very good reviews. The latest album again has many hip-hop superstars participating, including MC Mong. This song has the trademark MC Mong hip-hop style ballad with a listener friendly melody. Female singer Mellow lends her sweet vocal which includes many English lyrics, reminding us of Mong's old hit "A Letter Written To You Part 2". Despite no scheduled performance of this song by MC Mong, it has the potential to become No. 1 next week.

Comment: Having won the Inky Gayo Mutizen and Music Bank plus No. 1 on many internet rankings, IU dropped one spot this week with "Nagging". IU, who had debuted at a young age of 16 with ballad number, “Missing Child” showcasing her strong vocal at such a young age, returned with a new single. The title track is “Nagging” which was co-composed by Lee Min Soo who was responsible for Brown Eyed Girls’ “Abracadabra” and G.Gorilla of bands, Eve and Sprinkler. Seul Ong of 2AM is featured in this song, garnering interests among fans.

Comment: We saw a large of influx of prominent new girl groups last year and we got another one now. They are four-membered group Sistar! Formed by Bo Ra, Hyo Lin, Da Som, and So You, who underwent over two years of vocal and dance training. Even before their debut, the group was paired with Jang Geun Suk for a major Samsung Yepp ad campaign and the Magic Drag CM song. Sistar's debut song "Push Push" is doing very well on the chart. Comment: Big Bang's Tae Yang who received much love through his mini album, “Hot” has returned after two years with his first full length album, “Solar.” This album holds special meaning for the singer himself as it celebrates the ten year dream he had since his days as a trainee. The title track is “I Need a Girl” which was composed by rookie producer Jun Koon. Tae Yang’s mellow vocals flow well with the easy melody line and special rap featuring by fellow Big Bang member, G-Dragon. It is our highest debut this week at No. 7. This song just won the Inky Gayo mutizen award this week.

The artist took part in both the composition and penning of this heavy bass incorporated number. T.O.P’s witty yet interesting rapping flow well with the hip-hop beats. Fans can see the singer suited up with luxurious accessories in the much awaited music video. This week "Turn It Up" turns up five spots to No. 8.

This pop dance number was composed by Reefa, C-2, and Ryan Jhun, and penned by renowned Kenzie. The song depicts yet another side of Super Junior. This week "No Other" moves up 15 big spots to No. 9.

Comment: After School’s subgroup, Orange Caramel, which consists of members Reina, Nana, and Lizzy has released their first mini album this summer with the concept of “Candy Culture.” The girls have shed their powerful and sexy image of After School in order to show fans a new style and start a new trend. The title track, “Magic Girl” was composed by Cho Young Soo and Wheesung. It is a medium tempo Bokgo dance number with a Bokgo dance popular during the 1980s; it flows well with a Korean melody. It has easy lyrics that are sung brightly by the group. This week it drops one spot to No. 11.

Comment: Rookie group, missA, which consists of members, Fei, Jia, Suzy, and Min, has finally debuted with their first album, “Bad But Good". The girls were training for three years plus under JYP and have already been part of shows and commercials (Samsung Anycall). The title track “Bad Girl Good Girl” is a medium tempo number that has European melodies incorporated with strong American hip-hop rhythms. The girls are to show powerful stage performances with this song. This week "Bad Girl Good Girl" rises 20 spots to No. 13, becoming the group's first top 20 hit.

Comment: Kan Mi Youn, who has debuted fourteen years ago as the lead vocalist of Baby VOX has returned with a digital single, “Go Crazy” after spending two years doing activities in China. It’s been three years since her last digital single album in 2007 and in order for this comeback; she has spent lots of time working on new music, dance and style. Many people have known Kan as a ballad singer, but through “Go Crazy,” a dance number with lively rhythms and guitar sounds, fans will see her otherwise. The song was composed by hitmaker, Bang Shi Hyuk and features special rap featuring by MBLAQ’s Mir. This week "Go Crazy" is our biggest mover, up 29 big spots to No. 15.

Comment: Multi-talented MC Mong is a hip-hop artist and also an actor debuting in 2004 with his first album 180 Degrees. Back then hip-hop genre in Korea is still mostly underground. MC Mong is largely responsible to bring hip-hop music to mainstream fans, especially hip-hop styles ballads in which he has collaborated with many different artists and produced many chart topping hits. After his success, there are many rappers debuting and specialized in ballad style hip-hop sound. Each MC Mong album have followed this formula: the title song is an upbeat track with a unique concept, and the follow up song is a listener friendly rap ballads. He has had success in both. "A Letter Written To You" (feat. Lyn) is the first of such songs from MC Mong. This is also his theme song on the MBC sitcom "Nonstop 4" in which he made his acting debut. Despite not being the album title song and no official promotion is made, this song is very popular among fans and has also been covered by many singers on variety shows and concerts. Today, MC Mong is producing hits after hits and is considered the king of mainstream hip-hop.
