Comment: Ga In's "Irreversible" moves up to No. 1 this week.  Having scored many chart topping songs with Brown Eyed Girls, this is Ga In's first No. 1 solo hit. Narsha came close earlier this year with "Bbi Ri Bba Ra" at No. 2, but Ga In was able to break through this week against some pretty strong competitions. "Irreversible" is co-composed by hit makers Yoon Sang and Lee Min Soo. The polished chord work, great melody, and rhythm making mesh well with the synth sounds, producing an electronica fused tango number.

YESTERDAY ONCE MORE:
Park Jung Hyun - 꿈에 (In Dream)
Genre: R&B Ballad
External from soompi image
Album: Park Jung Hyun Vol. 4 (2002) Track 2
Watch: Live Performance
Comment: Park Jung Hyun (Lena Park) is a Korean American singer.  She is one of the first generation of overseas born singers who subsequently brought their music back to Korea.  Debuted in 1998, Park's music combines western style R&B and k-pop style melodies.  At that time where k-pop was in its evolution stage where many young idol groups emphasized on dancing, Park is a pure singer.  Fans were amazed with her having a petite body yet such a powerful singing voice.  "In Dream" was the title song from her 4th album.  When this album was released in June 2002, many singers had avoided putting out new songs in that month due to the World Cup taking place at home in Korea.  Park was among the few singers who released her new album, and the World Cup fever did not affect the popularity of this song at all as it became a chart topping hit. This ballad began with a beautiful string instrument intro and has a very difficult chorus part only vocalist of Park's skills can pull it off.  It is the kind of song where you have goosebumps every time you listen to it.
